Living Arrangements

Youth will live in shared homes with 3–4 other youth, each having their own bedroom and bathroom. Common spaces such as the kitchen, living room, study room(s) and laundry are shared, promoting community living while respecting privacy. Youth are expected to understand and agree to all house rules and community expectations.

Financial Expectations

Participants are responsible for:

  • Monthly Rent: $1,300.00
  • Damage Deposit: $650.00

Savings Component

To support transition into market housing:

  • $100 from each month’s rent is placed into a savings account
  • Savings accumulate for up to 12 months
  • Maximum savings release: $1,200

Upon successful completion of the program, savings may be used toward first month’s rent, damage deposit, essential furnishings, and other transition-related costs. Bedrooms are fully furnished, with the intention that furnishings may transition with the youth upon successful completion.

Eligibility Criteria

Youth Applicants must:

  • Be 16–26 years old
  • Be in care, on a Youth Agreement/SAGE Agreement, or transitioned from care
  • Have income through employment and/or government funding
  • Be ready to actively engage in structured programming
  • Be willing to live in a shared village community (5 homes on the property)
  • Provide character reference(s)

Additional requirements:

  • Applicants over 19 must complete a Criminal Record Check (at SBS expense)
  • Youth with active or significant criminal involvement will not be considered.
