Our Houndstooth Story
Timeless Pattern, Meaningful Purpose

The houndstooth pattern is known for its bold, timeless style which is a perfect reflection of our vision for Houndstooth. Opened in 2023 on vibrant Main Street in Vancouver, Houndstooth is the newest addition to our thrift store family. 

Although we’ve only been open for a year, many visitors affectionately refer to us as a “museum” due to our clean, fun, and artistic layout and presentation. Increasingly, local artists and creators have chosen to consign their arts, crafts, and DIY projects with us. Together with other secondhand stores, we play an important role in extending the life of beautiful items, keeping them out of landfills.

We are proud to be affiliated with the Vancouver Community College (VCC) Fashion Program. Through this partnership, students source recycled materials and items from our store to create unique fashion designs. Once completed, these pieces are sold in our store, with a portion of the proceeds going toward scholarships for the students.

Houndstooth also provides valuable job experience for university students and youth through government-funded programs, empowering them with skills for their future careers. It offers a curated selection of high-quality second-hand finds, from trendy clothing and accessories to unique home goods. Perfect for those who love thrifting with a touch of sophistication, it’s a place where style meets purpose. Every purchase made at Houndstooth directly supports our mission, with proceeds reinvested into programs for foster children, youth, and families.
