The Mount Pleasant Business Improvement Area (MPBIA) celebrates our community with a summer of free and inclusive outdoor events throughout June – September 2025. From July 18th to 21st, 26th Ave and Main Street Pilot Plaza will take place with live entertainment, local restaurant pop-ups, and BBQ.
The Mount Pleasant BIA is excited to continue our summer of free, inclusive community events with a pilot pop-up plaza on East 26th Avenue, between Main and Watson Street. This temporary plaza will run from Friday, July 18 to Sunday, July 20, with street closures in effect from 8:00 AM Friday to 2:00 PM Monday for setup and tear-down.
This initiative will test the potential for a permanent public plaza at 26th & Main, modelled after successful spaces at 14th and 21st Plazas.
Throughout the weekend, the plaza will host live music, pop-up food from Sula and Trafiq, a BBQ with Heritage and The Main, free cotton candy, face painting, and a performance by Cookin’ with Brass. The street will be set up with picnic tables and seating for public use, offering a relaxed spot to enjoy food, drinks, and the neighbourhood.
The space will be pet-friendly, family-friendly, and free for all to enjoy. All sound will comply with city regulations, with amplification limited to 10 AM to 6 PM.
