Years of Our Village Model of Care

Our Distinct Model Of Care Embodies The Concept Of How “It Takes A Village To Raise A Child”

Through our Village model, we provide family-based alternative care to children and youth with foster care experience. This includes support to youth, kids, and caregivers through residential services, program and support services, and wraparound care.

We believe in keeping siblings together and in family strengthening, creating a sense of community and belonging, and in educating and empowering children to become contributing members of society.

New Name, Same Mission

We would like to share with you some exciting news! We have a brand new operating name! Going forward our new name will be SideBySide Children’s Village Society, as we are no longer affiliated with SOS Canada and SOS International Federation.  Please note, as a result of this name change, our Steveston thrift store location will also revert to it’s previous operating name “Treasure Cottage”.  Whilst our name has changed, our mission remains unchanged, and we remain committed to providing family-based alternative care to children and youth with foster experience in British Columbia. We thank all our community members and supporters for the past 30+ years of contributions and look forward to our new journey under SideBySide Children’s Village Society.

Our Focus As A Charity

SideBySide Children’s Village Society supports families and vulnerable kids because we believe every child should grow with love, respect, and security.

The statistics show that we as a society are failing our families and our children.
SideBySide’s community of belonging in Metro Vancouver meets the needs of youth at-risk who are the key to our future.
